Tony Grossenburg will officiate with burial in the Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon. Special music will be provided by Talia Ploog and Elissa Kipfer. Serving as casketbearers are Garick Ploog, Aaron Ploog, Justin White, Carlos Guatemala Sanchez, Brandon White, and Nathan Kipfer. The Knights of Columbus are considered honorary bearers. RITA ANN DEWITT was born February 18, 1926 in Lemmon, SD to William Edgar and Mabel (Jones) DeWitt. She attended North Lemmon School and graduated from Lemmon High School. She moved to Seattle, WA where she was a telephone operator at the Puget Sound Naval Base. Rita returned to Lemmon where she worked as a teller at the First National Bank. She was united in marriage to Myron White on August 17, 1947 in Lemmon. She worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone until starting a family. In addition to being a full-time stay at home mom, she also helped her husband in his accounting practice. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an excellent gourmet cook, having once prepared a luncheon for then Governor Kneip and his staff. She loved music, liked to bowl, was a seamstress, and an avid reader. Rita was a member of St. Mary's Church Circle for many years. Rita passed away on Saturday morning, December 31, 2011 at the Belle Fourche Nursing Home. She is survived by her husband, Myron W. White of Lemmon; three sons, Charles White (Vonnie) of Rapid City, SD, Brian White of Clearfield, UT and Myron G. White (Donna) of Summerset, SD; one daughter, Pamela Ploog (Barry) of Spearfish, SD; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gary and Keith White; one brother, Howard DeWitt; and two sisters, Loretta McNamara and Maurine Salzsieder. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday morning. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
