Read More	Ritchie Essley Robbs December 13, 1951 - October 08, 2021 Ritchie Essley Robbs, 69, of 1316 Robbs School Road, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Sandra Epps Robbs and the son of the late Ross Essley Robbs and Iris Lee Queen Robbs and step-son of the late Margaret Gettys Robbs. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, attended Limestone College and served in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He was a former member of The Sounds of Time Band and was a well-respected musician in the Greenville, Spartanburg and Charlotte areas. He sat in with several well-known musicians, including Billy "Crash" Craddock, Randy Travis, T. Graham Brown, Lee Greenwood and Percy Sledge to name a few. Mr. Robbs was a retired truck driver for Double R Utilities and a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, also surviving is a son, Richard Brian Robbs (Kelly) of Rock Hill, S.C. ; a daughter, Sarah Essley Robbs Rice of Spartanburg; a brother, Tommy Robbs of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Maddison Essley Irene Rice and John Lucas Dale Rice; a nephew, J.R. Robbs (Haley) of Gaffney; a niece, Kristi Robbs-Schroeder (Michelle) of Gaffney; and a great nephew, Jesse Robbs; and a great-niece, Gracie Robbs. A graveside memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m.on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Kandy Queen-Sutherland and Reverend Martin Hogg officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
