Read More	Gaffney, S.C. - Margaret Lemmons Gettys Robbs, 82, of 1258 Robbs School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Gaffney Medical Center. Born in Cherokee County, she was the widow of the late Ross Essley Robbs and was first married to the late William Arthur Gettys, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Vivlian “Dib” Lemmons and Annie Proffitt Lemmons. Mrs. Robbs retired as owner and manager of Gettys Lumber Company and was previously a secretary for First Baptist Church. Margaret was an active member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church where she was a choir member and president of the Mary LeMaster Sunday School Class. She also served as a committee member of the Grassy Pond Golden Age Club. Surviving are two sons, Milan Gettys and wife, Stephanie, and Tony Gettys, all of Gaffney; two daughters, Gay Guthrie, and Lorrie Morris and husband, Bob, all of Gaffney; two step-sons, Tommy Ross Robbs, and Ritchie Robbs and wife, Sandi, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Louise L. Brooks and husband, Gene, of Greenville and Nancy J. Lemmons of Spartanburg; a brother, Benny Lemmons and wife, Judy, of Greer; eight grandchildren, Callie Guthrie Smith and husband, Jeremy, Kate M. Guthrie, Mac Morrow and wife, Andy, Kristin Gettys Irish and husband, David, Samantha Humphries and husband, Bobby, Jeffrey Gettys, Marc Gettys and David Gettys and wife, Charlotte, and twelve great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, J. R. Robbs and wife, Haley, and Christy Robbs. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Mac Lemmons and a son-in-law, Tim Guthrie. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Church with Dr. Terry Lanford and Rev. Martin Hogg officiating. Interment will be in the Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Grassy Pond Baptist Church, “Building Committee”, 254 Grassy Pond Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341. The family will be at the residence, 1258 Robbs School Road, Gaffney.
