He was the son of Mrs. Gregory Zurn of this city but went west three years ago and was employed as fireman on the Rio Grande railroad. Some months since Robert was taken with typhoid fever and at last reports he was getting along nicely, hence the family was greatly surprised to learn on Saturday last of his critical condition and Sunday of his death. The deceased was twenty-one years of age and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen. Fifteen months ago he was here for a few days visiting his mother. Funeral services are conducted at the Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. Jeffers officiating. Interment at Greenwood. ````````````````` August 15, 1902, p. 1, col. 5 Card of Thanks. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen of Salt Lake City and Alliance who were so kind and helpful to us during the sickness of our son, R. A. Mesener, in Salt Lake City. Words cannot express our wishes for the future welfare of this organization. We especially wish to thank the Brotherhood for the steps they took to have the remains prepared at once for shipment that we might see his dear face once more before he was laid to rest in his last resting place. We also wish to thank especially Mr. H. E. Hannigan, master of the Brotherhood at Salt Lake City, and Mr. C. A. Onasch, secretary-treasurer, who accompanied the remains to Alliance for interment and to thank our many friends and the Woodmen, Daughters of Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges for the floral offerings. MR. AND MRS. ZURN. `````````````````` April 10, 1903, p. 4, col. 4 Al Wiker erected a monument last week over the grave of Robert Mesenor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Zurn, in Greenwood cemetery. It is said to be the finest monument in the cemetery.
