Description	:	Robert Abraham Essick, son of John S. and Mary Catherine Essick was born at Kanoplis, Kansas on April 20, 1893 and died at Wesley Hospital, Wichita on August 15, 1951 at the age of 58 years, 3 months and 25 days. He came to Greenwood County with his parents at the age of fourteen, He was educated in the Ellsworth and Greenwood County schools, graduating from the Southern Kansas Academy in 1912. He came to Greenwood County with his parents at the age of fourteen, He was educated in the Ellsworth and Greenwood County schools, graduating from the Southern Kansas Academy in 1912. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Moss on June 19, 1918. To this union were born two children, a son Robert Elmer and a daughter Catherine Truskett, both of Climax. He has resided on a farm near Climax for the last 38 years. He was a member of the Climax Methodist Church, He was a kind, loving husband and father and a warm friend of all his neighbors and associates. He patiently endured the last days of suffering. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two children, five grandchildren, Sue, Ann and Bill Essick and Janet and Bill Truskett. two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Wygle and Miss Belle Essick of Climax, two brothers John of Hamilton and William of Lawrence.
