He passed away on December 15, 2008 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 28 days. Pete was one of 4 children. Read More	Robert Allen Peterson, the son of Robert and Phyllis (Young) Peterson, was born on December 17, 1937 at Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on December 15, 2008 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 28 days. Pete was one of 4 children. He grew up in Superior and attended school through the 10th grade. His family moved and he finished his high school years graduating from Brewster High School in Brewster, Kansas. Pete was inducted into the United States Air Force on August 10, 1955 serving as a radar tec for the Air Born, he was honorably discharged on July 11, 1963. Pete was united in marriage to Louise Gerbitz on August 6, 2005 at Grace Community Evangelical Free Church, Superior, Nebraska. Pete was employed at KRFS radio, and was the host voice for party line and also the Sunday Morning Gospel. He was a member of the Grace Community Evangelical Free Church and was a leader in the men's ministry. He was a 35 year member of the Superior Volunteer Fire Department, serving in all capacities except chief, he retired as a trustee in April of 2007. He was part of the Nuckolls County Emergency Management and the Storm Watchers as a spotter, he was a member of React (Disaster Response Organization), he served on the South Central Emergency Training Committee, he was a volunteered EMT and provided service for the hospital for nearly 25 years on the ambulance crew. He volunteered many hours for the Relay for Life, serving on committees, and helping out at the relay, and he helped with the Lady Vestey Days in Superior. Pete loved Nascar and was an avid Husker fan, he collected clocks and fire department memorabilia. He operated a Radio Shack franchise in Superior for nearly 10 years and was an electronics repairman, he loved to tinker with all sorts of electrical items. He enjoyed going to car races and tractor pulls, and for awhile he and his brothers raced midget cars. Preceded in death by his father, Robert E.Peterson and step-father Earl Vasoncellas, one brother ,Billy Lee Peterson, an infant son ,C. David Peterson, and a great-grandson, Johnathan McKinney. Survivors include his wife Louise of Superior; mother, Phyllis Vasconcellas of West Sacramento, California; children, Kathe McKinney and husband Lewis of Okemah, Oklahoma,Steve Peterson and wife Lucille of Thornton, Colorado, Robert Peterson and wife Mary of Arlington, Texas, Mike Peterson of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Chris Peterson and wife Michelle of Arlington, Texas; and Missy Russell and husband Joe Bob of Arlington, Texas; 4 step-children; 22 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Peterson and wife Karen of Superior, Nebraska and one sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Sauce and husband Randy of West Sacramento, California several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends. Services at: Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, Nebraska Time of Service: Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 2:00 PM Clergy: Pastor David Johnson Pastor David Johnson officiating. Pallbearers were Steve Peterson, Mike Peterson, Chris Peterson, Christopher Peterson, Randy Sauce and Lewis McKinney. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Zeigler, Leo Zadina, Mike Martin, Todd Kroeger, Jon Paddock, Jim Smith and Tom Johnson.
