Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Robert passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE. Robert Arthur Alvin Steinmeyer was born on the family farm north of Wisner, NE to Carl and Hedwig “Hattie” (Luedtke) Steinmeyer. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner. Bob attended Cuming County Rural School District #66. He helped his father on the family farm. On June 19, 1960, he was united in marriage to Cathrine Liermann at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Bob was engaged in farming, hauled hay for Kindschuh’s and Lueshen’s for many years, and raised registered Suffolk sheep with his sons, Randy and Russell. He also delivered the Norfolk Area Shopper on the rural route. Bob was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, its Fellowship Club, and delivered service tapes to shut-ins. He was a 4-H Leader with the Prairie Ramblers for 25 years, and served as assistant superintendent for Grant Township at the Cuming Co. Fair for many years. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. Survivors include- Wife- Cathrine Steinmeyer of Wisner, NE Son- Randy Steinmeyer and fiancée Peggy Jelinek of Wisner, NE and her children-Briana & Tyler Daughter- Sherry Steinmeyer and Tom Feyerherm of Wisner, NE Son- Russell and Amy Steinmeyer of Wisner, NE and children- Nathan, Grace & Karl Sister- Helen and Arlen Lierman of Beemer, NE Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters-Esther Doffin, Beata Stillman-Fryer, Inez Reetz-Quiring, Mildred Reetz, and Mabel Heinemann, and his brother-Arnold Steinmeyer.
