The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 31, 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Aaron Witt officiating. Interment will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Bob was born July 4, 1929 to Gottlieb and Ruth (Kuehnert) Wilke in rural Platte County, Nebraska. He lived a few miles from his birthplace his entire life. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. He attended Christ Lutheran School and Kramer High School. On June 15, 1958, Bob was united in marriage to Carolyn Ebke at Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell, Nebraska. They farmed their entire lives, raising cattle, hogs and grain. He was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as elder and school board member. He was also a member of the Walther League, Men’s Bible Breakfast and Christian Growth. Bob was a member of Pork Producers and the Platte Valley Cattlemen where he served on the Board of Directors. He was dedicated to caring for his crops and livestock. He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, and was especially fond of coon hunting with his dogs. Bob also liked playing cards and being with his family, and he especially enjoyed teaching the grandchildren to hunt and fish. He enjoyed going to the grandchildren’s athletic and school activities.
