He was born on May 1, 1929 in Columbia Falls to Arthur and Mary (Taddie) Peters. He grew up and lived in the Flathead Valley his entire life. He attended Bad Rock School through the eighth grade then graduated from Flathead County High School in 1948. On January 11, 1951, he married Carlene Widdowson. Peters, 72 passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2001 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born on May 1, 1929 in Columbia Falls to Arthur and Mary (Taddie) Peters. He grew up and lived in the Flathead Valley his entire life. He attended Bad Rock School through the eighth grade then graduated from Flathead County High School in 1948. On January 11, 1951, he married Carlene Widdowson. He worked at Pacific Fruit and Produce for 35 years before the Kalispell Center Mall opened and Pacific Fruit and Produce closed. He then worked for three years at Garrett Freightways before retiring in 1988. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends fishing, camping, huckleberry picking and riding his Honda 90. He was a man who lived life to the fullest. He truly was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. If he met you once, you were his friend for life. Even the animals considered him a friend. He loved the deer, raccoons and birds that visited him daily in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Alfred, Gene, Bud, Dick, and Jerry; and one sister, Margaret Bleskin. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carlene Peters of Kalispell; two sons, Gary Peters of Bigfork and Douglas Peters of Kalispell; one daughter, Roberta Diegel and her husband Jerry of Kalispell; one brother, Jack Peters and his wife Marie of Kalispell; seven grandchildren, Stacey Deshaw, Heather Owens, Jake Peters, Cari Peters, Arin Peters, Jeremy Diegel, and Jamie Diegel; four great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Dolores Peters, Betty and Duane Bitney, and Ruth Poston of Kalispell, and Kathy Peters of Troy, also many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
