"Bud" Peters, 77 Walter E. "Bud" Peters, 77, of Polson, died on Feb. 6, 2000, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center from natural causes. He was born on March 30, 1922, in Columbia Falls, to Arthur and Mary Peters. He attended schools at Bad Rock Elementary and Flathead County High School. On Jan. 5, 1945, he married Vesta Combs in Polson. She preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1977. He married Bernice Johnson Brown in Couer d'Alene, Idaho, on Sept. 30, 1977 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 1999. He worked most of his career as a lineman for Pacific Power & Light Company. He loved to fish and play cribbage and pinochle. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved to tell jokes. He was a very giving man with a big generous heart. He helped raise several foster children throughout his life and he never ran out of love or patience for them. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vesta, and his second wife, Bernice; four brothers, Alfred, Richard, Jerald and Eugene; two grandsons, Michael Orr and Joe Grady; one stepson, Gary Dean Brown. He is survived by two daughters, Susie Olson and her husband, Chris, of Polson, and Cyndy Clairmont and her husband, Vern, of Ronan; one stepdaughter, Trudy Brown Nault and her husband, Pat, of Great Falls; one foster son, Mike Grady of Stanford; one stepson, Bill Combs; grandchildren, Barbie Combs and Edward Combs of Pablo, Brenda Steiner and Anna Olson of Polson, Shanna Depner of Valier, Jason Clairmont of Polson, Jeff Clairmont of Kalispell, Amanda Clairmont of Ronan, Steve Johnson of Belgrade, and Chris and Cody Brown of Polson; great-grandchildren, James "Bubba" Steiner and Ashley Clair Steiner, Sarena Aippersbach and Trista Sapp; two brothers, Robert and Jack Peters of Kalispell; one sister, Margaret Bleskin of Kalispell; and a longtime special friend, Mary Griffin, of Polson. A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson, with the Rev. Paul Rowold officiating. Inurnment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Women's Guild. Grogan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
