Description	:	NEW HAMPTON -- Robert D. "Bob" Boos, 86, of New Hampton, died at home Sunday, Sept. 27. He was born May 19, 1929, in New Hampton, son of Samuel V. and Justine Walentiny Boos. He married Rita Shannon on Dec. 27, 1954, at Immaculate Conception Church, Elma; she died in 1988. Bob graduated from New Hampton High School in 1948, and then began his career as the assistant hog buyer for Jacob E. Decker and Sons, New Hampton. "Bob" Boos, 86, of New Hampton, died at home Sunday, Sept. 27. He was born May 19, 1929, in New Hampton, son of Samuel V. and Justine Walentiny Boos. He married Rita Shannon on Dec. 27, 1954, at Immaculate Conception Church, Elma; she died in 1988. Bob graduated from New Hampton High School in 1948, and then began his career as the assistant hog buyer for Jacob E. Decker and Sons, New Hampton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He continued to work as the manager at the buying station under the Monfort, Armour and Swift companies, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters, Arlene (William) Denner, Colletta Buss and Lorraine (Leonard) Eiler; and a brother, Earl. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Holy Family Parish, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, both in New Hampton.
