Bob sang with the Happiness Express Barbershop Chorus for over 30 years and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. The Reverend Carl Lee will officiate the service, with inurnment to follow in the Odebolt Cemetery in Odebolt, Iowa. Friends may call at Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Odebolt on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Born June 30, 1924, in Sac County, Iowa, Robert Dean Thayer was the son of William G. and Frances (Wagner) Thayer. Bob grew up in Odebolt, graduating from Odebolt High School in 1942. He served two years in the United States Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty Jo in 2003; and a brother, Lyle Thayer.
