Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. The Reverend Albert Buelow officiated, with burial to follow in the Odebolt Cemetery. Born August 7, 1924, in Ida Grove, Iowa, Robert E. Rohlf was the son of Milton and Amanda (Andresen) Rohlf. He graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1942. On February 24, 1946, he married Frances Petersen. Robert served in the United States Army from 1946-47. After his honorable discharge from the service, he and Frances began farming near Holstein, Iowa. After several moves, the couple made their home in Silver Creek Township northeast of Ida Grove in 1952. In 1963, they purchased a farm near Odebolt where they resided until 1981, when they moved into Odebolt. Robert was a former 4-H Leader, Extension Council member, and Farmer's Co-Op board member. He also was active at Trinity Lutheran Church, serving over the years as elder, church president, and in the fellowship club. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and reading westerns. Survivors include his wife, Frances; five children, John (Sheryl) Rohlf of Garner, James Rohlf of Odebolt, David (Paige) Rohlf of Altoona, Gary (Sharon) Rohlf of Odebolt, and Marilyn (Jon) Lamoreux of Plymouth, MN; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Kreisler of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lester Rohlf; and a sister, Mildred Oslund.
