Description	:	Notice of Death: Robert LeGro, who for many years had been a familiar figure in Ponca, was carried to his last resting place Sunday. The services were held in the Presbyterian Church. Rev. N.P. Fowler preached the sermon and the Odd Fellows had charge of the services. Burial was under the direction of Mohr's. Mr. LeGro had made many friends during his life in Ponca, and the Church was full of those who came to pay their last respects to him. Obituary: Following a lingering illness of many years duration, Robert E. LeGro passed away on Tuesday, 7 June 1932, at the Methodist hospital in Sioux City. He was born in Osage, Kansas, 1 September 1874, but spent the early years of his life in Union Country, South Dakota, until his first marriage 4 November 1895, when he began farming in Dixon County, Nebraska. In 1906 he moved his family to South Dakota where he filed and proved up on a government claim, returning to Ponca later and engaging in the mercantile business for several years until his health began to fail. Dorus Anna Davis was his first wife, preceding him in death 13 February 1913. His second wife was Edythe Lyle Scheffel, who also departed this life 9 May 1927. Deceased was an active member of Ponca Odd Fellows Lodge, No. 115, for nearly thirty years, and also a member of the A.O.U.W. Lodge, No. 261. Surviving him are nine children: Mrs. Flossie Blecker and Modiste LeGro of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Orpha M. LeGro of Altoona, Pennsylvania, James R. and Freeman A. LeGro of Glendale, California, by his first marriage, and Willis Keith, Phylis, Gwynne Damon and Benita June LeGro of Spokane, Washington, by his second marriage. He also leaves to mourn his loss his aged father, James A. LeGro, of Hawthorne, Florida, two half-sisters, Mrs. Jemima Walbeck and Mrs. Hulda Cooper of Leeds, Iowa, three half-brothers, Aaron A. Pace of Elk Point, South Dakota, Harry H. Pace of Audubon, Iowa, and Glen G. Pace of Leeds, Iowa, four grandchildren besides many other relatives and friends. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian Church in Ponca, Sunday afternoon, 12 June 1932, Rev. Newton P. Fowler Officiating.
