Robert Edward Blake, Jr., was born in Havre, Montana, on October 26, 1934. He was one of three sons born to Louise Norenberg and Robert J. Blake. Bob grew up on the family homestead 14 miles north of Hingham and attended schools in Hingham. At an early age he began farming; he worked for various farmers in the Hi-line area before buying his own place north of Hingham. Bob married Irma Gustafson of Rudyard in 1955 and the product of that marriage was three children. He continued to work and live in the Hingham community until two months ago, when he was admitted to a Great Falls hospital. He was transferred to the convalescent home in Cheater on June 11. He remained there until death on the evening of Saturday, July 11. Bob was 52 years old. In his younger days Bob did some hunting and enjoyed snowmobiling. At one time he had been active in the bowling leagues at Rudyard. Bob liked people, and he was a great one for telling stories or personal experiences to family and friends. He enjoyed movies and was especially fond of action-packed dramas and comedies. Bob was a generous man and was always willing to let a friend use his shop, tools, and equipment. Bob's survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Kevin Rocks of Great Falls, a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Chris of Hingham, a son, Scott of Great Falls, his father, Robert, Sr. of Hingham; two brothers, Donald of Rudyard and Roger of Nevada; two granddaughters, Randon Rocks, and Kramer Blake; and numerous nephews and nieces. Bob was preceded in death by his mother in 1986.
