Description	:	Robert Edward Scott was the youngest child of Major William Cowherd Scott, CSA, and Pamelia Augusta Graves. He was an Engineer with the C & O Railroad. Robert first married Justina Jones in Virginia and had 3 children, two of which died less than a year old. Their surviving son was William Berkely Scott. He was last heard from his half brother while allegedly en route to CA, but never heard from again. Read More	Robert Edward Scott was the youngest child of Major William Cowherd Scott, CSA, and Pamelia Augusta Graves. He was an Engineer with the C & O Railroad. Robert first married Justina Jones in Virginia and had 3 children, two of which died less than a year old. Their surviving son was William Berkely Scott. He was last heard from his half brother while allegedly en route to CA, but never heard from again. It has since been discovered William is buried at Rock Island National Cemetery in Illinois whose date of death is shortly thereafter and he never made it to California. Robert had a second union with Pearl Adkins of Lawrence County, Ohio. Adkins relatives advised the couple simply announced one day that they had been married. It is unknown where the marriage took place or the exact date. They had four children together: Charles Lee (1914), Claude Edward (unk exact), Judith (1918), and Robert Edward Jr (1922). Charles died as a baby and Claude died as a toddler but his gravestone has been lost to vandalism. Robert Edward Scott died in Huntington, WV, two years after Pearl's death. His body was transported back to Gordonsville, VA, to be buried. Both Judith and Robert Jr accompanied their father's casket on the train surprising their wealthier Scott relatives of their existence. Both children were refused by their wealthier relatives. His son decided he was old enough to support himself, and his daughter was taken in by his mother's poorer relatives who would rather struggle even more than let their niece go to an orphanage. Robert is buried next to his first wife, Justina.
