Description	:	ATHENS--Robert E. Bolin, 64, of River Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at Veterans Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., after an extended illness. Born May 30, 1931, in Seneca County, he was the son of Lloyd S. Bolin of Athens, and the late Beatrice Wood Bolin. Mr. Bolin was a 1949 graduate of Albany High School, and was a graduate of Columbia College in Missouri. Mr. Bolin retired as chief master sergeant from the Air Force with 30 years of service. Bolin, 64, of River Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at Veterans Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., after an extended illness. Born May 30, 1931, in Seneca County, he was the son of Lloyd S. Bolin of Athens, and the late Beatrice Wood Bolin. Mr. Bolin was a 1949 graduate of Albany High School, and was a graduate of Columbia College in Missouri. Mr. Bolin retired as chief master sergeant from the Air Force with 30 years of service. He logged 14,127 hours of military flying time. He was a crew member, gunner, scanner and was a flight engineer on various aircraft. He was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Purple Hearts, Air Force Commendation Medal, Chief Crew Member Wings and a total of 29 ribbons. He was stationed in nine different states and performed temporary duty overseas and in Canada. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens, and attended Albany Baptist Church. He was a life member of the National Association of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a past post commander of Ohio. He was a life member of Albany VFW Post 9893, where he was a past post commander from 1961-1963. He was a life member of American Legion Post 21 in Athens, AMVETS Post 93 in Albany and Disabled American Veterans Post 37. He was a charter member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 100 in Athens. Besides his father, he is survived by two daughters, Linda and Sonia; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and William E. Miller of Albany, and Bartha and Rich Caravantes of San Diego, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Lynne Bolin of Albany; and a special friend, Maxine Wade of Athens. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Bolin. Services will be Saturday at noon at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, with the Rev. Michael Rose officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by the Albany VFW Post. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
