He had been ill for the past year and had been cared for by Bertha Deao. The funeral will be Friday, 1:30 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Joan Erbe officiating. Burial is in Elm Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday and the family will be at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Kleese was born in Des Moines Feb. 21, 1934, the son of Frank B. and Lucille Fisher Kleese. He graduated from West Chester High School and married Connie Smith in Hawthorne, Nev., in 1954. He attended Coe College and was a lab technician in the U.S. Navy for eight years. He served on the destroyer USS Dixie and on Kwajlen Island in the Pacific area. Mr. Kleese had farmed with his father and worked in the construction business for 15 years. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are three daughters, Robyn (Mrs. Cleo) Lyman of Herber City, Utah, Kolene (Mrs. Curtis) Creek of Van Couver, Wash. and Rita (Mrs. Monty) Twitchell of Cannonville, Utah; nine grandchildren, three sisters, Joyce (Mrs. Ray) Nebel of Keota, Shirley (Mrs. Richard) Dickinson of Roy, Utah, and Donna Lugaver of Mound, Minn., and a brother, Carl McNulty of Oregon. He was preceded in death by a son and his mother. Two survivors were omitted from the obituary for Robert E. Kleese, He is also survived by a son, Martin F. Kleese of Murray, Utah, and his father, Frank B. Kleese, Washington.
