Grewe died in Mercy Hospital at 5 a.. of multiple injuries incurred shortly after midnight when his motorcycle collided with a friends on Hickory Grove Road abut half-way between W. Central Park Avenue and Kimberly Road. The friend Richard L. Paulson, 24, of Long Grove said he was riding slightly behind the two motorcycles and saw them driven by Grewe and Haskins suddenly veer together. Paulson said the three were en route to an all night restaurant at the time. After noting that his companions were seriously injured, Paulson rode his motorcycle back to Locust Street and called Police. Police said the accident in which the two men received fatal injuries was reported at 12:22 a.m., just two minutes before a car-motorcycle accident was reported at 35th and Brady Streets. Killed in that crash was Robert E. Lamb, 35, of 1218 Adams Street, Davenport. Police said Lamb suffered head injuries. A passenger on Lamb’s cycle, Mrs. Jeannie F. Johnson, 38, of 2945 Brady Street, Davenport, was undergoing treatment for head injuries Saturday at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital. Mrs. Johnson’s husband said Lamb had been giving rides on his cycle to various person. Johnson said he had ridden with him just prior to the fatal crash. Police said Lambs’ machine struck the rear of a car operated by Mrs. Norma Dunn, 55, of 3545 Fair Avenue, Davenport. She was not injured. Officers said that shortly before the accident complaints of motorcycles being operated in a reckless manner in the vicinity of Brady Street. Funeral services for Robert Lamb will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Burial will be in Oakland Mills Cemetery, Oakland Mills, Iowa. Born in Yuma County, Colorado, December 24, 1930, he married Marcella Thomas on August 10, 1950 in Iowa City. He had been a resident of Davenport the last five years. Mr. Lamb was employed as a heavy equipment operator by various construction companies. Surviving are his wife; sons, Larry and Steven; daughters, Nancy and Susan all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer (Edna Lucille Abbott) Lamb, Salem, Iowa, and sisters, Mrs. Florence Coughlin and Mrs. Ilene Hummer, both of Davenport, and Mrs. Faye Heartsill, of Salem. Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Thomas, Mt. Pleasant, and Robert Eugene Lamb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lamb, Salem, took place in Iowa city, Thursday, August 10 ,1950. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Justice of Peace, C. J. Hutchinson at 2 p.m. in the presence of the relatives of the couple. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Archie Long, Lockridge, a sister of and brother-in-law of the bridegroom. The bride wore a white taffeta dress with white accessories and Mr. Long wore a Copenhagen dress. The bridegroom wore a navy blue suit and his attendant wore a suit of brown. Mrs. Lamb attended the Mt. Pleasant High School and Mr. Lamb attended the Salem Schools. She is employed at the Princess Candy Kitchen and Mr. Lamb has employment with the county. They will make their home in an apartment on Washington Street, Mt. Pleasant. On Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Lamb wee dinner guests of Mrs. Frances Warford at the Harlan Hotel. Relatives attending the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Thomas, the bride’s parents of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Edith From and daughter, Marion, Ottumwa; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lamb and daughters, Misses Faye and Ilene, Salem, the bridegrooms parents and sisters; and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Long, Lockridge.
