Born April 3, 1947, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gottfried "Fred" J. and Mary Siegman Beyer. He was the husband of Joyce Lynn Inskeep Beyer, his wife of 38 years. He was an Army veteran, having served during Vietnam. He was self-employed as an insurance salesman for 37 years. He... Read More	Robert Fred Beyer, 60, of Westminster died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born April 3, 1947, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gottfried "Fred" J. and Mary Siegman Beyer. He was the husband of Joyce Lynn Inskeep Beyer, his wife of 38 years. He was an Army veteran, having served during Vietnam. He was a 1965 graduate of Westminster High School, spent two years at St. Mary's College and graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He was self-employed as an insurance salesman for 37 years. He was a member of American Legion Carroll Post 31 and Littlestown Eagles Aerie Post No. 2226. He enjoyed traveling in his recreational vehicle. He was an avid reader and sports fan. He also enjoyed history, particularly the Civil War, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Melanie A. and Robert E. McVeigh of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and Cara L. and Brian J. Dubay of Cincinnati; a son, Brandon R. Beyer of Westminster; grandchildren Maci A. and Maryn A. McVeigh, Nicolas M. Hankinson and Maryn R. Dubay; a sister-in-law, B. Jil Inskeep; and in-laws Kenneth M. and Dorothy G. Inskeep of Westminster. He was predeceased by a brother, John Lee Beyer. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran (Leisters) Church, 827 Leisters Church Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Marty Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Leisters Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society for Lung Cancer Research, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784. (Carroll Co Times - 4/1/2008)
