Description	:	Montezuma, Iowa - Robert Gayle Worthy, son of Herbert and Ellen Brubaker Worthy, was born near Oskaloosa, Iowa on August 25, 1936, and passed away at the Community Hospital, Grinnell, Iowa on March 14, 1958, at the age of 21 years. Read More	Montezuma, Iowa - Robert Gayle Worthy, son of Herbert and Ellen Brubaker Worthy, was born near Oskaloosa, Iowa on August 25, 1936, and passed away at the Community Hospital, Grinnell, Iowa on March 14, 1958, at the age of 21 years. When he was three years of age he moved with his parents to Poweshiek County where he attended the public schools, graduating from Montezuma High School in the Class of 1954. In high school he was active in F.H.A. and 4-H work. He also attended Iowa State College at Ames for one year. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Kellogg, Ia. And had been an active worker in the Sunday School and Youth Fellowship in the Ewart United Presbyterian Church. On January 21, 1956, he was united in marriage with Shirley Harrington and in May 1957, their son, Brian, was born. The past year they lived in Oskaloosa, where Robert was employed by Montgomery Ward. About two months ago they returned to Montezuma to work on the Walter Audas farm. In addition to his wife, son and parents, he is survived by six sisters and two brothers: Marjorie Cloyed, Ottumwa; Vivian foster, Oskaloosa; Charlotte Rudkin, Cincinnati, Ohio; Adah Hunziker, Sully; and Francene Sears, Keith, Curtis and Donna Worthy, all of Grinnell; 18 nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and many friends. Final rites were conducted from Montezuma Methodist church by the Rev. George Snyder, pastor, and the Rev. E. E. Beattie pastor of the Ewart Presbyterian church, on Monday, March 17, at 2 p.m. Keith Stahl, accompanied by Mrs. Esther Moore, sang, In the Garden and Beyond the Sunset. Pallbearers were Richard Porter, Keith Hamilton, Warren Smith, Billy Cleland, Gordon Haworth, Jim Jeffrey, and Don Gray. Interment was in the Jackson Township Cemetery. Keith Stahl sang two numbers during the funeral service. Burial was in the Jackson Township cemetery.
