Description	:	Son of Reynold "RJ" & Mary (Parry) Berlin. He attended school in Genoa until the age of 12 when the family moved to Riverside, California. There he attended Riverside High School where he was a part of the ROTC program. The family moved back to Genoa when Bob was 16 and he graduated from Genoa High School in 1942. On May 13, 1943, Bob entered the US Army during WWII, serving in Europe and was honorably discharged on February 17, 1946. He then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for 1.5 years. Bob then went to work for the State... Read More	Son of Reynold "RJ" & Mary (Parry) Berlin. He attended school in Genoa until the age of 12 when the family moved to Riverside, California. There he attended Riverside High School where he was a part of the ROTC program. The family moved back to Genoa when Bob was 16 and he graduated from Genoa High School in 1942. On May 13, 1943, Bob entered the US Army during WWII, serving in Europe and was honorably discharged on February 17, 1946. He then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for 1.5 years. Bob then went to work for the State of Nebraska Highway Department. On September 14, 1950 he and Bernetta Bokelman were united in marriage in Genoa. On September 23, 1950, Bob was called back into active duty in the service and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Bob was discharged on August 4, 1951. In 1955 Bob and Ken Schaffer went into partnership and opened B-K Floor Crafters in Columbus. Bob sold his portion in 1970. Engineering was always an interest to Bob, so he went to work for Bruce Gilmore & Associates, retiring from there in 1987. He then went to work for the Nebraska Concrete Council as a Public Relations Director until 1992. Bob then joined Johnson, Erickson & O'Brien Engineering from Wahoo, Nebraska in the marketing department until 1998. Bob was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he had served on the church council and was an usher for many years. He enjoyed traveling and taking the family on their annual fishing trip to Minnesota. Bob also enjoyed hunting, golf, card clubs, and reading. He was a member of the Eagles, the American Legion, and a life member of the VFW.
