He was born on April 29, 1933, in Keokuk, the son of Robert H. Sr. and Alberta L. Azinger Irvin. He married Doris Tiemann on June 17, 1956, in Montrose. She survives. Irvin Jr., 77, of Keokuk died at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, in Lexington Square, Keokuk. He was born on April 29, 1933, in Keokuk, the son of Robert H. Sr. and Alberta L. Azinger Irvin. He married Doris Tiemann on June 17, 1956, in Montrose. She survives. He lived in Keokuk and Montrose area most of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. HHe was a Keokuk businessman for more than 55 years, owning and operating Irvin Cycle Sales. He was a member of Keokuk Lodge 29, A.F.& A.M. Soctiotsh Rite of Quincy, Ill., KAABA Shrine of Davenport, Keokuk Humane Society and Motorcyle Dealers Association of Iowa. Additional survivors include: three children, Kim Irvin and his wife, Cheryl, of Montrose, Ellen Weis and her husband, Doug of Dallas Center and Jill Gull and her husband, Bob, of Keokuk; three grandchlidren, ERic Irvin and his wife, Jennifer, of West Liberty, Hannah Weiss of Dallas Center and Megan Irvin of Montrose; two great-grand-children, Owen and Abigail Irvin, both of West Liberty; a brother, David Irvin and his wife Marcia, of Kirksville, mo.; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James O. Irvin. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of LIfe Center, 917 Blondeau St., Keokuk with the Rev. Rodney Underwood officating. Burial with full military rites will follow in the Sandusky Cemetery, rural Keokuk. Visitation is after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A public Masonic memorial service will be at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Keokuk Humane Sociaety, Sandusky Cemetery Association or Keokuk American Legion Post 41.
