Description	:	The following obituary was published in the Knoxville Express, Knoxville, Iowa, on December 13, 1911: "Robert Hunnel, of Swan (whose death at the Methodist hospital, Des Moines, was briefly noted in last week's issue), was born July 31, 1845, in Westmoreland county, Pa. Read More	The following obituary was published in the Knoxville Express, Knoxville, Iowa, on December 13, 1911: "Robert Hunnel, of Swan (whose death at the Methodist hospital, Des Moines, was briefly noted in last week's issue), was born July 31, 1845, in Westmoreland county, Pa. Two years later his parents settled in Iowa. "Deceased was engaged in farming, but about fifteen years ago he removed to Swan. His health was broken by a severe illness before leaving the farm, and he never fully recovered. For the past eight years he had been janitor of the Swan school building, and also served the Christian church in the same capacity. He was also marshal of the town for a time. He had been a member of the Swan M.E. church for several years. "Mr. Hunnel was the father of three children, two sons and a daughter. The sons and their mother died some years ago. "The remains were brought to Percy and lay at the home of his father-in-law, Mr. Gadberry, until next day (Tuesday), when the funeral, under the auspices of the Masonic lodge No. 473, of Swan, was conducted by Rev. Fred Warner. Interment was made in the cemetery east of Percy." His Iowa death certificate indicates that the cause of his death was stomach cancer.
