Read More	Robert James Ponciano died of natural causes at his home in Willows on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. He was born on Feb 16, 1935. A devoted son, brother, nephew, husband, uncle, friend, athlete and sportsman, he grew up and lived his life in Glenn County and graduated from Willows High School. In 1953, he was named the region's most promising high school baseball player by the Sacramento Bee. He was married to Jerry Vader and worked for Alta Dairies. He also worked as a bartender, Coors truck driver and traveled the country through his work with Western Geophysical. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and excelled in bowling and softball. In 1977, he was a founder of the Willows Softball Team, with wins in a local tournament and overall division champs. He coached Little League and was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. Friends and community may come visit and gather through Saturday evening at the family home, 245 South Culver Street, where he lays in honor. Burial services are planned for 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Willows Cemetery. Those wanting to join the procession from the home to the cemetery, please park on Culver Street by 10:30 a.m. Sacramento Valley Mirror, Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016.
