Description	:	Bob, age 84, died Thursday, Feb. 10th at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND from complications of a stroke and heart failure. Bob was born Jan. 15, 1927 in Elden Township, Dickey County, ND, son of Rudolph and Clara (Noess) Pomplun. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church of Albion Township, Dickey County and received his education in Albion Township Rural School #2. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church of Albion Township, Dickey County and received his education in Albion Township Rural School #2. Bob served as a Corporal in the US Army March 1946 to March 1947 and was honorably discharged. Bob began working as a lineman for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1948, retiring in 1983. During retirement he worked part-time as a bus driver for Hi Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND. Bob married Rhoda E. Grasswick (1918-2001) of Valley City, ND and together had one son, Jeff. In 1978, Bob married Loretta Jung and they lived in Jamestown, ND until her death in 2004. Bob was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown.; American Legion Post #137, Ellendale; the Telephone Pioneers of America; and the preservation of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Bob enjoyed gardening, fishing, pinochle, whist, visiting and his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his son Jeff (Tana) Pomplun and grandchildren Pete (age 14) and Caitlin (age 11) of Bismarck ND, stepchildren Bill, Tom (Verla), David Jung, Connie Kelley; step- grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his wife, parents, siblings, nephews Ramon Pomplun and Jon Moderow and stepson Phillip Jung.
