Description	:	Robert J. Evers, 92, of Grand Island, died Thursday, January 1, 2004 at his home in Riverside Lodge. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5th at St. Libory Catholic Church with Father Mike McDermott officiating. Visitation will be Sunday at Kleine Funeral Home from 1 to 3 p.m., and, from 5 7 p.m. at the church with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Burial of cremains will be in St. Libory Catholic Church Cemetery. Mr. Evers was born March 17, 1911 at St. Libory, NE, the son of Herman H. and Anne (Hastings) Evers. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1928 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He moved back to St. Libory and farmed until retiring in 1984. He moved to Riverside Lodge in 1994 and was living there at the time of his death. Robert was a lifetime member of St. Libory Catholic Church and sang in the church choir most of his life. He was also a life-member of the Grand Island Community Concert Association and a supporter of the Patron of Music Fund. Mr. Evers was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and, was a pilot for his own plane. He was a Master Electrician, afounding member of the St. Libory Fire Dept., and served as secretary of the board of Union Grain in St. Libory. Robert is survived by one brother; Lawrence Evers of Grand Island, one sister; Sister Anne Evers of Omaha, twelve nieces and nephews, including Mike Evers of Kearney, and special friends; Don and Helen Brittin. Mr. Evers was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Dorothy Recker and Virginia Wetta, nephew Dick Recker and niece Susie Wetta.
