McClure, age 69 years, 6 months and 24 days, and a member of the Christian church, passed away at 8:45 Saturday morning at his home where he had been confined since the first of the year. Born October 13, 1868, in McDonald (sic) county, Illinois, Mr. McClure moved to northern Missouri as a child with his family and then came to Cherokee at the age of fourteen, where he had since made his home. Born October 13, 1868, in McDonald (sic) county, Illinois, Mr. McClure moved to northern Missouri as a child with his family and then came to Cherokee at the age of fourteen, where he had since made his home. Mr. McClure married Miss Della Kays in 1888. Four children came to bless this union, two girls and two boys. The first son preceded him in death at the age of seven years. After leaving the farm eleven years ago he came to Cherokee, where he was in the ice and trucking business. Ill health forced him to dispose of his business this spring. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Della McClure, two daughters, Mrs. Marie McColm of Cherokee; Mrs. Winifred Fisher of Chicago; and a son, John T. McClure of Orange, New Jersey; three sisters, Mrs. Elexene Clugston, Mrs. J.W. Venard of Cherokee, and Mrs. Lizzie Neill of Tina, Mo., and one brother, James McClure of Hale, Mo.; seven grandchildren and a host of relatives, neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church by Rev. G.W. Corporon of Acadia assisted by Rev. Templin. Interment was in the Cherokee cemetery. Added by Cheryl White
