Shirley Post No. 176 of Blue Hill. Merten-Butler Mortuary of Blue Hill is in-charge of arrangements. Mr. Mohlman was born March 25, 1929, to Fred and Adeline (Parks) Mohlman at Pauline. He attended Adams County School District No. 51 and graduated from eighth grade in 1942. He graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1946. On Sept. I5, 1951, he married Lois Hayes. They moved to Hastings and then to Blue Hill where they operated a cafe and then farmed. He was inducted into the U.S. Marine Corps in December 1951, and served in the Korean War for two years. He was a switchman/breakman for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1951-87 when he retired. They moved to Marysville, Kan. in 1974 and in 1987 moved back to Blue Hill. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and A.L. Shirley Post No. 176, both of Blue Hill and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No 592 of Hastings. Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Deborah Castaldi of Lexington, SC, Barbara Cota of Chandler, AZ and Brenda Trumble of Blue Hill; four sisters, Mary Kort, Ruby Stevens and Elly Mae Keeney, all of Blue Hill, and Irma Bell of Giltner; one brother, George of Blue Hill; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or St. Paul's Lutheran Church Hastings Tribune Aug 2001.
