Myers, 27-year-old Hawarden father of four children, was killed in a truck collision about 9 o'clock Sunday night. The icy road condition at Tomah, Wis., was believed to be the cause of the head on collision of two trucks of which both drivers were killed. Mr. Myers was a contract trucker and had been hauling cattle between Sioux City and Green Bay, Wis. Mr. Myers was born August 12, 1928, at Stewart, Ia., and had been a resident of Hawarden. The past 4½ years. He recently purchased the Pattin house on Avenue E. He was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors are the widow, Doris; four children, Sandra, Linda, Dianna and Duane; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Myers of Estherville; two brothers, Marvin of Knapp, Wis., and Donald of Estherviile, and two sisters, Mrs. Welling Golwer of Anoka, Minn., and Mrs. Everett Myers of Glenwood City, Wis. Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 1:30 at the Frazier Funeral home and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church, Rev. S. A. Kruschwitz officiating. Interment will be at Grace Hill cemetery. Hawarden Independent Thursday, December 8, 1955 Hawarden, Iowa Young Trucker For Barney Foreman Dies In Collision Robert Meyers, 27, of Hawarden, who was a contract truck driver for Willard (Barney) Foreman of Alton, was killed in a truck collision near Green Bay, Wis. The other truck driver was also killed in the accident. Few details of the tragedy are known to the Foremans here, who report that Mr. Meyers was returning from Green Bay with an empty trailer, owned by Mr. Foreman, after hauling livestock from Sioux City to Green Bay on a regular route. The extent of damage to the trailer is not known. "There wasn't a nicer guy," said Mrs. Foreman about .young Mr. Meyers, who leaves his wife and four small children, three daughters and son.
