Description	:	Robert L. Olson, age 93, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, at a local care center. A private family funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD. Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate. Music will be provided by Damian and Ashlyn Marchand. Family is requested to meet at the chapel by 10:30 a.m. for a family prayer service. A public walk through visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday, December 4, 2020, from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Robert’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be all of his grandsons: Bobby Nichols, Paul West, Nathan West, Scott Marotz, Eric Stricherz and Ryan Hall. Robert L. Olson was born on February 13, 1927, in McGregor, MN, to Chester and Jeanette (Dekker) Olson. He met and later married Ruth McGurk, on September 2, 1947, in Redfield, SD. The couple resided in Watertown, SD, where Robert drove truck for Lamberts and BPI for many years. He retired in 1989. He enjoyed hunting and riding horse. At the age of 80, Robert bought a 4 wheeler and drove it all over, including to the kid’s homes and other small town places. Robert is survived by his children: Bonnie Nichols, Barbara (Joe) West, Kim (Mark) Marotz, Robin Hall, Watertown, SD and Karla (Myron) West of Hayti, SD; 28 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, infant and Russell; daughter, Lorrie Stricherz; son-in-law, Robert; three brothers and five sisters. - Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel
