Memorials may go to Hospice of Jasper County ot to the donor's choice and may be left at the funeral home. Robert L. Wolfe was born June 24, 1923, in Putnam County Missouri, the son of Rev. Charles L. and Mattie G. (Surry) Wolfe. He was married to W. Lucille Jenkins December 29, 1952, in Newton. Robert lived in Monroe and the Monroe area for 50 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952. He worked for 24 1/2 yeears as a production worker for Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella, retiring in 1989. He had also worked at the Maytag Company and Derald's DX in Newton. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111 and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1655. He also attended Southern Baptist Churches in Jasper County and Missouri. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, puzzle books, and going to his AAA Gun Battalion U.S. Army reunions. Survivors are two sons, Bill Wolfe and his friend, Carolyn Elam of Monroe, and Robert "Bobby" Wolfe of Monroe and one daughter, Carol (Ron) Wheeldon of Newton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Other survivors are a brother, Neal (Rosemary) Wolfe of Oskaloosa; a sister, Mildred Probasco of Unionville, Missouri; and a sister-in-law Evelyn Wolfe of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, family friend, Bambi, and his dog, Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, W. Lucille in 2006; great-grandaughter, Hannah L. Swarts in 2001; and brother, George.
