Description	:	Son of Houston and Elizabeth (Gamble) Lamberton, and husband of Catherin Anna (Shambarger) Lamberton. He was born on the family farm at Aughill, near Londonderry, N. Mr. Lamberton was born in Londonderry, Ireland, May 1st, 1816, and came to America in 1839; was married to Anna C. Sambarger, of Cumberland County, Pa., in 1840, and settled in Duncannon, Perry County, Pa. in the same year, where he lived until the spring of 1865, when he came to Allen county, Ohio, settling in Shawnee township. Four years ago he built a fine residence on his property in South Lima, where he resided till his death. Mr. Lamberton leaves a wife, two sons, W.H. and J.F., six daughters and several grandchildren to mourn his loss. Mr. Lamberton was a sterling Democrat and lived to rejoice in the election of Grover Cleveland, for whom he cheerfully voted. Mr. Lamberton has been a consistant member of the Presbyterian church since 1841. He lived a beautiful and happy christian life. The shadows across his pathway through life were quickly chasedaway by the hale of glory that shone out in refulgent splendor from his great heart. His good mother and three children preceeded him in death and when he died they came and took him home. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the South Lima Presbyterian church, Revs. Robinson, his pastor, Hall, Johnson, and Harmont officiating. A large assembly of relatives and friends followed the remains to Woodlawn, where they were laid to rest in the peace and quietude of a beautiful spring day. In the Federal Census I found Robert Lamberton in Penn Township, Perry County, Pa. in 1850 at the age of 34 years with his wife, Catharine A. at the age of 25. Robert is listed as a laborer, and at the time had sons; Houston age 9, and John F. age 6; and daughters, Margaret E. age 3, and Pricilla J, age 1. In 1870 of course he is in Shawnee Township and has added Mary E. age 15, Amanda L. age 11, Mertle A. age 6, Also living with him is Jacob Spiker, age 22, and Sarah R. Spiker, age 19, and Benjamin Boes, age 18. There's two large families of Spikers next to Mr. Lamberton's farm and may be a reason for the Spikers living with him.
