McDorman, 52, who passed away May 21, 1978, of an apparent heart attack. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Masonic graveside rites were conducted by A.F.& A.M. Lodge No. 81 of Holyoke, and graveside military rites were conducted by the American Legion Post #90. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Robert Laurence McDorman was born July 13, 1925, to Robert O. and Lavina R. Roush McDorman. Robert spent his childhood in Holyoke and received his education in the Holyoke schools. He graduated in May 1944. He joined the Methodist Church October 15, 1944, and the A.F. & A.M. Lodge No. 81 of Holyoke, February 10, 1954. He entered the military service December 15, 1944, and was discharged November 16, 1946, serving during the Philippine Campaign and later in Japan. He worked for the Hughes Aircraft Company for over 23 years, and was working there until the time of his death. He loved to fly small planes along with gliders. He was a soloist, and also sang with a Barber Shop Quartet in Los Angeles. Robert is survived by his sister-in-law, Rae Belle McDorman and four nieces, Donna McDorman of Oxon Hill, Maryland; Sharon, Mrs. Joe Risinger of Arvada; Karon, Mrs. Calvin Kessinger of Denver and Mrs. Marlene Miller of Holyoke; seven great nieces and great nephews: Dale and Tammy Risinger, Troy and Scott Kessinger, Jennifer and Jeremy Miller and Shaun McDorman; one aunt, Mrs. Jessie Pugh of Denver, and a host of relatives and friends.
