Description	:	ROBERT L ORMSTON Robert L Ormston, 58, of 1922 3rd Ave N W, Waverly, suffered a heart attack at his home early Monday morning, March 16, and died a short while later at the Waverly Municipal Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1923 in Warren township, Bremer county, Iowa the son of Lyle and Dorothy Koenig Ormston. Read More	ROBERT L ORMSTON Robert L Ormston, 58, of 1922 3rd Ave N W, Waverly, suffered a heart attack at his home early Monday morning, March 16, and died a short while later at the Waverly Municipal Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1923 in Warren township, Bremer county, Iowa the son of Lyle and Dorothy Koenig Ormston. Bob graduated from the Waverly High School in 1941, and on September 23, 1943 entered the U S Army during World War II. On September 12, 1945 he was united in marriage to Betty Ambrose in Little Rock, Ark. Following his discharge on June 1, 1946 they returned to Waverly. Bob became an empolyee of the Carnation Co. in Waverly in 1950. On September 20, 1950 he was recalled into the service during the Korean Conflict, discharged on February 17, 1952, and returned to his job with the Carnation Co. He suffered a serious accident at work in 1979 and took his retirement in 1980. Mr Ormston was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church, was a member and Past Commander of the Waverly Amvet Post No. 79. and was a member of the Joe W Cretzmeyer VFW Post. No 2208 in Waverly. Survivors include his wife, Betty: one daughter, Mrs David (Jacqueline) Reints of Allision; his mother, Mrs Dorothy Ormston of Waverly: and four granddaughters, Kelly, Jodi, Amy, and Lori. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard Ormston of Waverly and William Ormston of Marshalltown: and by four sisters, Mrs Ralph (Lavon) Juhl of Waverly: Mrs Milton (Grace) Westendorf of Waverly: Mrs William (M. Marie) Larson of Redwood City, Calif and Mrs David (Mary) Beidelman of Panora. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral will be Wednesday Mar 18 at 1:30 PM at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly with Rev Walter B Phelps officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly Betty was a member of Waverly Amvets Auxiliary and a member of Trinity Methodist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, watching sports and playing cards.
