Description	:	Robert "Bob" Lee Beckler was born February 20, 1933, on a farm north of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to William W. and Anna (Roth) Beckler, the 5th of 7 children and passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Bryan LGH East Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 23 days. Read More	Robert "Bob" Lee Beckler was born February 20, 1933, on a farm north of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to William W. and Anna (Roth) Beckler, the 5th of 7 children and passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Bryan LGH East Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 23 days. As a young man, Bob attended country school district #53 near his home place near Beaver Crossing and later became a 1950 graduate of Beaver Crossing High School. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized in his youth at East Fairview Mennonite Church and later became a member of Beth-El Mennonite Church. Bob was drafted into the US Army from 1952-54 and served overseas in Japan and Korea. Upon his return, he was employed with the State of Nebraska as a surveyor until 1957, when he joined his father and began his long career of farming, farming predominately in the Beaver Crossing area. On April 12, 1957, Robert was united in marriage to Beverly Jantzi at East Fairview Mennonite Church near Milford and to this union four children were born: Shari, Nancy, Tony and Tami. Bob's family was the center of his life and enjoyed the many activities his children and grandchildren were involved with. Farming was certainly his passion, raising livestock and crops. Robert was a very generous, loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and later in his life, golfing. He loved to fix things for his children and grandchildren, trying to repair or restore what needed fixed. After their move to town, one of his greatest joys was having coffee every morning with his close friend John H. Honesty and integrity were values that he lived by. Survivors are: wife of 54 years, Beverly Beckler; daughters and sons-in-law, Shari and Doug Nelsen of Dorchester, Nancy and Russ Stutzman, Beaver Crossing, Tami and John Stabenow, Milford; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Jan Beckler, Beaver Crossing; 7 grandsons and 7 granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Linda Beckler, Friend, sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Orlen Stauffer, Milford; brother-in-law, Roland Janzti of Oregon, sister-in-law, Lillian Beckler, Seward, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lillian and Percy Gerig, Lebanon, OR, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Phil and Belva Janzti, Hendersonville, NC, Jim and Joan Janzti, Shipshewana, IN, Lonnie and Connie Janzti, Erie, PA. and a host of relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Beckler, brothers, Lawrence and Orie Beckler, sisters, Mary Janzti and Edna Stauffer, brother-in-law, Wally Stauffer, sisters-in-law, Della Beckler and Alice Beckler-Thies, and a great- granddaughter, Willa Mae Stutzman. Interment was in the Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford, NE.
