Description	:	PARK CITY - Robert L. Bernhardt, 79, died peacefully at his home in Park City on Feb. 27, 2008, while surrounded by his family. Robert was born in Laurel on Jan. 5, 1929. He was the oldest child of Jacob and Amelia (Weil) Bernhardt. Robert was baptized as an infant, and confirmed in April 1944 in St. John's Lutheran Church of Laurel. Robert was born in Laurel on Jan. 5, 1929. He was the oldest child of Jacob and Amelia (Weil) Bernhardt. Robert was baptized as an infant, and confirmed in April 1944 in St. John's Lutheran Church of Laurel. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1947. On Jan. 15, 1955, he married Elsie Frank. They worked together for many years raising their family, dairy and feedlot cattle, sugar beets and corn. During Dad's last years, he greatly enjoyed gardening. Dad's occupation was farming, his hobby was farming, and his favorite topic of conversation was farming. He served on the Mountain States Beet Growers Board of Directors for 33 years. He was an elder in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Park City for many years. He enjoyed reading his daily newspaper, news magazines and trade journals. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elsie (Frank) Bernhardt; sons Michael (Lorrie) Bernhardt and John (Jennifer) Bernhardt of Park City; and daughters Laurie (Tom) Glover of Great Falls, and Lynette (Randy) Tedlund and Mary (Mark) Stabio of Billings. His cherished grandchildren are Matt (Jennifer, fiancee) Bernhardt and Joe (Beleisha) Bernhardt; Annie and Ashley Glover; Jacob, Rob, Daniel and Benjamin Tedlund; Katie, David, and John Stabio; Randi and Lane Diercks, and Taylor, Mackenzie and Jack Bernhardt. Also surviving Robert are his three brothers and three sisters, Bill (Gladys) Bernhardt, Jim Bernhardt, Dorothy (Ted) Henry, Darlene Bromenshenk, Don (Carol) Bernhardt and Donna (Bill) Perrigo. Robert is also survived by many well-loved sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Bob's family would especially like to thank his wonderful helpers, Sally, Bonnie and Dennis; Dr. Hager; and the physicians, nurses and caregivers who assisted him through his last years of illness. A memorial service is planned for Monday, March 3, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Park City, with Pastor Doug Thompson officiating. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Park City, Big Sky Hospice-Stillwater Team, Park City Ambulance or memorial of donor's choice. Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
