Coffin Cowlitz County, WA on Feb. 24, 1907, Robert Lee Bush at the age of 43 years, 3 months and 24 days, having been born at Mt Coffin, Wash, Oct 16, 1864. He was married at the same place on November 27, 1890 to Ida O. Michael. He leaves a deeply bereaved wife and 4 children to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father and eight brothers and four sisters to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held at the residence of his parents, at one o'clock pm on the 26th of February 1907, at which was present the entire family, an unusual circumstance and one which in all probability may never occur again in the family history, and in this connection may be stated the noticeable fact that this is the first and only break in the family circle in nearly or quite fifty years, his parents having been among the pioneers of Cowlitz County. He was of a pleasant genial disposition and among a host of relatives and friends was always known as "Bob." The disease of which he died held him in its cruel grasp for seven years, during which he suffered intensely at times, yet he bore all with wonderful courage and patience. He sought relief by visiting California and Arizona, but such relief was only transient and proved a forlorn hope. He came home at last to die, death coming to his relief at last, touching his tired heart with its icy fingers, and the long struggle was ended The burial took place in the Catlin cemetery, where a large concourse of his relatives and friends assembled to pay their last respects to his memory. His grave is admirable situated, commanding as it does, a fine view of the beautiful valley of the lower Cowlitz. Looking back over his long weary years of suffering, let us try to think it is better so, and that all will be well with him beyond the dark river.
