He was born February 14, 1928 in New Bavaria, Ohio to the late Clarence and Yvonne (Newton) Schwab. On May 23, 1981, he married Janet (Guminy) Schwab who survives in Napoleon. Schwab, 82, of Napoleon, Ohio died Friday, August 13 at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born February 14, 1928 in New Bavaria, Ohio to the late Clarence and Yvonne (Newton) Schwab. On May 23, 1981, he married Janet (Guminy) Schwab who survives in Napoleon. Robert retired in 1991 as water plant operator at Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon, but continued part time until 2007. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #492 of Liberty Center, the Model T Club of Toledo, the Maumee Valley Retired Iron Tractor Club in Napoleon, the Knights of Columbus in Napoleon and past president and member of the Liberty Center Rotary. He was also a Korean War Veteran. Robert is survived by his wife, Janet and daughters, Kathy (Glenn) Badenhop of Liberty Center, Ohio; Linda (Dan) Helberg of Defiance, Ohio; Karen (Tom) Weaver of Napoleon, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Julie Hacker of Maumee, Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Allen of Tecumseh, Michigan; Donna Munson of Salem, South Carolina; Marilyn (Jack) Krueger of Liberty Center, Ohio and brothers, Clarence (Carolyn) Schwab, Jr. and James Schwab both of Napoleon, Ohio. He was preceded in death by an infant son. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at 10:30 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon, Ohio, officiating Father Daniel Borgelt. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, suggested memorials are to St. Augustine Catholic Church or School.
