Born in Blockhouse, he was a son of the late Solomon and Elva Blanche (Slaunewhite) Veinotte. Robert was a marine fitter for Atlantic Ship Building. He also worked for several local companies and at the time of his retirement, was employed with Clearwater in Lunenburg. Read More	VEINOTTE, Robert Leon (Bobby) - 61, Clearland, Lunenburg Co., died Wednesday, November 25, 1998, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Blockhouse, he was a son of the late Solomon and Elva Blanche (Slaunewhite) Veinotte. Robert was a marine fitter for Atlantic Ship Building. He also worked for several local companies and at the time of his retirement, was employed with Clearwater in Lunenburg. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces as a gunner, stationed in Gagetown, N.B. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 49, Mahone Bay, for 37 years. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman and could tell jokes as long as you wanted to listen. Robert enjoyed life to the fullest. Surviving are his companion, Myrtle Parsons, Clearland; sons, Corey and Troy, Cornwall, Lunenburg Co.; sisters, Goldie (Mrs. George Hacquoil), Bridgewater; Jean (Mrs. Robert Marler), Dokoma, Wash.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Edith Veinotte; brother, Richard and wife Verlene, all of Clearland. He had several nieces and nephews. Robert will be fondly remembered by granddaughter, Anikka Park. He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Weaver; brothers, Donald, Floyd and Glenwood. There will be no visitation by family request. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 28, in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay, Rev. George Wawin officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clearland. Flowers from the immediate family only. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the family.
