Mr. Roll, son of Louis and Clara Schict Roll, was born April 25, 1914 at Blue Island, IL, and moved with his family when a young boy to St. Francis, KS. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith June 6, 1914. Later the family moved to Palisade, NE, where they lived a few years before moving to Holyoke, in 1933. Read More	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, CO, August 1988 ROBERT ROLL OBITUARY NOTED Robert Louis Roll left this life Wednesday, August 17, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville, AR at the age of 74 years. Mr. Roll, son of Louis and Clara Schict Roll, was born April 25, 1914 at Blue Island, IL, and moved with his family when a young boy to St. Francis, KS. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith June 6, 1914. Later the family moved to Palisade, NE, where they lived a few years before moving to Holyoke, in 1933. He moved to Seligman, MO in 1969 from Holyoke. He was a retired businessman and farmer. He entered the United States Air Force, February 18, 1942, and served his country for three years and nine months. He was honorably discharged December 4, 1945. He was a member of the disabled American Veterans and the Erwin Easley American Legion post #118, at Cassville, MO. He married Ruby Marie Blakesley, January 4, 1945, at St. Francis, KS. She survives. Additional survivors include three sons Louis Roll and Kenneth Roll, both of Amherst, and Marvin Roll of Republic, Mo; a daughter, Irene McCormick of Holyoke; a brother Lester Roll of Holyoke; four sisters Louella Gregston of Clarkston, WA, Hazel Andrew of North Platte, NE, Esther Hosman of Brighton and Gertrude Rears of Eckley; five grandsons and six granddaughters. His parents Louis and Clara, an infant son Melvin and a sister Marie preceded him in death. He was a loving and caring husband and father. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Funeral servics were held Saturday, August 20 at Williamson-Seligman Funeral Home with State Representative Nolan McNeill officiating. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 22 at Holyoke Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Myers officiating.
