Robert Lindsay Dead Following Extended Illness Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church for Robert Lindsey who died Thursday evening in Veterans hospital, Wichita. The Rev. Robert B. Kendall officiated at the services and special music was furnished by a quartet composed of Hannah Wood, Mary Smith, Mark Ellis and Lewis Irwin, who sange "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" accompanied by Mrs. Lola Morgan. Casket bearers were Henry Mueller, Harry Massey, Howard Moore, Clyde Lowry, Charles Norris and Gus Kaufman. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery where the Algy Doty Post American Legion was in charge. Mr. Lindsey was born May 29, 1894 on a farm east of Humboldt and had spent his entire life in this community. On July 27, 1918 he married Ethel King of Humboldt, who died in 1934. He was a member of the American Legion, I.O.O.F., the Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department, a veteran of World War I, and for twenty-five years was superintendent of Utilities in Humboldt until ill health forced his retirement. He had been a patient in the Wichita hospital since last August. Survivors are three sons, Robert Wayne, Seminole, Okla., Charles, stationed at Wichita Falls, Tex., Harold of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Edith Littlepage, Iola and Frances Eva Tweedy, Cambridge, Nebr., three brothers, Frank, John and Kenneth, Humboldt, two sisters, Mrs. Ray Collins, rural Humboldt and Mrs. Olin Duncan, Pittsburg, three grand daughters and four grandsons, several nieces and nephews.
