Description	:	Robert Neal Frary, 90, of Salem died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at his home. Born August 7, 1916, in Salem, he was the son of Greeley and Florence (Bunker) Frary. On April 14, 1940, he married Esther Waldmeier. She died September 9, 1998. Bob attended a one-room schoolhouse, Dorland School, east of Salem and graduated from Salem High School. He was a member of Farm Bureau, Salem Congregational Church and Henry County Cattleman’s Association where he was named Cattleman of the Year in 2000. He enjoyed farming. Born August 7, 1916, in Salem, he was the son of Greeley and Florence (Bunker) Frary. On April 14, 1940, he married Esther Waldmeier. She died September 9, 1998. Bob attended a one-room schoolhouse, Dorland School, east of Salem and graduated from Salem High School. He was a member of Farm Bureau, Salem Congregational Church and Henry County Cattleman’s Association where he was named Cattleman of the Year in 2000. He enjoyed farming. He rode horses in local parades. He attended every Midwest Old Threshers Reunion from its inception and never missed a single Fort Madison Rodeo from 1956 to 2006. He enjoyed telling stories, hunting, fishing and other sports. He was recently honored for his 30 years of service to Salem East Cemetery. Survivors included one daughter, Sara Miller of New Braunfels, Texas; four sons, Neal Frary of Salem, John Frary of Atascadero, California, Tom Frary of Mount Pleasant and Jim Frary of Salem; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Graves of Des Moines; nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Martha Harshbarger, and two sisters. The funeral for Mr. Frary was at 11 a.m. Friday, June 22nd at Salem Congregational Church with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial was in Salem East Cemetery.
