On Jan. 12, 1946, she married Frank W. Steflik in Mount Pleasant. He died Jan. 3, 1961. On Jan. 12, 1962, she married Edward F. Sawyer in Fort Madison. She worked at IAAP and was a nurses aid at the former Sacred Heart Hospital. She also worked at various local restaurants. She was a member of Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ and Sawyer Circle. She supported girls basketball and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include her husband of Denmark; one son, Gary Steflik of Fort Madison; two daughters, Diane Gasaway of Nauvoo, Ill., and Patty Steflik of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; three great–grandchildren; one great–great–grandchild; one brother, Robert Frary of Salem; one sister, Betty Graves of Des Moines; nieces; and nephews. Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. The funeral was held at King–Lynk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barbara Koenig–Byorum officiating.
