He was the last surviving member of a family of five children. He departed this life at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, July 19, 1972 at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 22 days. He was the last surviving member of a family of five children. He departed this life at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, July 19, 1972 at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 22 days. He moved to Nebraska with his parents in the spring of 1889. Most of his life was spent in the Chelsea community where he engaged in farming. March 18, 1909, he was united in marriage to Faye Elton. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters: Francis, Richard and Robert of Geneva, Ruth of Oakland, Cal., Roine (Mrs. Ray Seitz) of Boone, Ia., Luci (Mrs. Ralph Pollock) of Portland, Ore., and Doris (Mrs. Donald Willadsen) of Sun Valley, Cal.; also 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1926, leaving him the responsibility of raising a family. Two grandchildren also preceded him in death. Mr. Nunns was a member of the Chelsea United Brethren church and later the United Methodist church. He loved outdoor life and hunting was his favorite sport. He could be classed as a true pioneer, as he saw this country go through many changes like transportation and methods of farming during his lifetime. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, July 22, at the Farmer-Harris Funeral home in Geneva with Rev. John E. Stayton officiating. Mrs. Larry Bornschlegl of Genoa sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Abide With Me,” accompanied by Mrs. LaVern Vejraska of Milligan, organist. Pallbearers were Dale Nunns, Keith Nunns, Fred Nunns Jr., Robert L. Nunns, James Seitz, LaVern Vejraska and Larry Bornschlegl. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
