MOORE, owner of Forest Farms Products here and long prominent in local agricultural and civic affairs, died of a heart attack during the night at his Lake Manitou home. He was 64 years of age. Mr. Moore had been in failing health in recent months, but his death came as a shock to family and friends. The fatal seizure occurred during his sleep and was not discovered until early this morning. Early in his professional career, Mr. Moore mainly was responsible for the establishment of 4-H clubs in Fulton county. At the time of his death he was a director of the Indiana State Fair and a member of the Fulton County Council. For over 40 years he had been in the forefront of most Rochester civic and Fulton county agricultural ventures. His innumerable appearances as master of ceremonis for public functions throughout the county made him well-known to a majority of county residents. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. James RHOADS of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday. Robert Paul MOORE was born Dec. 6,1897, the son of Frank F. and Laura V. McMAHAN MOORE and had spent his entire life in this community except for service in the Army during World War I. The Moore homestead was the Elmdale Stock Farm, three miles east of the city on Ind. 14. His marriage was Sept. 28, 1925, at Kewanna, to Arabelle V. MURPHEY, who survives. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Reba) SHORE, and the following nieces and naphews: Mrs. Joe Van DUYNE, Hugh MOORE and Byron SHORE, all of Rochester; Mrs. William (Virginia) STOUT, Grand Ledge, Mich.; Mrs. Ned (Frances) TILMAN, Indianapolis; Mrs. Nicholas (Dorothy) PRESECAN, Rialto, Cal.; Joanne HERBERT, Lorain, O., and Ralph MOORE, Columbus, O. Preceding in death were three brothers, Levi P. MOORE, Fred MOORE and James MOORE. Mr. Moore served 25 years as a fieldman for the Chester White Swine Record Association, which his father had founded in 1907. In that work, he had traveled throughout the Midwest and made countless friends. For his long record of service, the Association honored him in 1961 with a Distinguished Service Award. In 1918, while working with his brothers, he became leader of the County Pig club which had been established by the Moores. Membership was quite low, so Mr. Moore and the county's first agricultural agent, L. R. BINDING, canvassed the county and induced 68 farm boys and girls to join the club. Entries were made from the club in the 1918 county fair. From this beginning, other farm clubs were established which later grew into the 4-H Association and later resulted in the County 4-H Fair. He served on several occasions as a member of the Fulton County 4-H Fair board of directors, relinquishing those duties in 1955 but maintaining a lively interest in the annual exposition. Mr. Moore was a member and benefactor of the First Baptist church, also belonging to the American Legion, Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Moose and Eagles lodges and the Fulton County Purebred Livestock Breeders Association. He had served the Chamber as a director, helped in the successful establishment of the United Community Givers charity drive here, was a past president of the Rochester High School Alumni Association and was active on both state and county levels of the Republican party. His Forest Farm Products, on north Fulton avenue, earned him the sobriquet of "Buttermilk Bob" because of his sale of milk by-product as animal feed. He long had sponsored amateur basketball teams which played by that name. The firm also dealt in feeds, seeds and farm supplies. The Moore home, which Mr. Moore had remodeled into one of the showplace residences in this area, is on Barrett road on the north shore of the lake. He was in his fourth year as director of the Indiana State Fair at the time of his death. The first three years he had been director of the Fair's horse department and managed the nationally-famous State Fair Horse Show. He had been busy in recent weeks preparing for his duties as grandstand dirctor in connection with the 1962 State Fair. Mr. Moore had decided this year to seek another four-years term as member of the County Council, which is the county's financial administative body.
