Description	:	WENATCHEE - Robert P. "Bob" Visnaw, 76, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 1995, in Colonial Vista Convalescent Center following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 24, 1919, to Louise and Edna (Daniels) Visnaw at Tacoma. As a child, he moved with his parents to Crescent Bar, where he attended school. "Bob" Visnaw, 76, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 1995, in Colonial Vista Convalescent Center following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 24, 1919, to Louise and Edna (Daniels) Visnaw at Tacoma. As a child, he moved with his parents to Crescent Bar, where he attended school. Following graduation from Quincy High School, he moved to Alaska and worked on a fishing boat. Mr. Visnaw joined the U.S. Army Air Force in 1939 and served in the European and African theaters during World War II. While stationed in South Africa, a mine detonated under his Jeep and he spent time in a hospital in Germany. After his honorable discharge in 1945, he returned to the Wenatchee Valley. Mr. Visnaw was employed with J.N. Vale Roofing. He married Monnafay Sanford on July 21, 1946, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They moved to Alaska, where Mr. Visnaw worked for the Alaska Truck Lines and later Sea-Land Trucking. He retired in 1977 and they returned to Wenatchee, where he purchased an orchard on Stemilt Hill. Mr. Visnaw retired again in 1988. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Anchorage branch, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1685, Eagles Lodge No. 204 and Elks Lodge No. 1186 at Wenatchee. Survivors include his wife, at home; a son, Phillip of Wenatchee; two stepsons, Dennis Sanford of Wenatchee and Dale Sanford of Entiat; a brother, Frank of Buckley; a sister, Carol VanHee of Orting; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee.
