He was born on March 31, 1926, and is the son of the late Ross Witter and Myrtle Sanford. On May 1, 1949, he married Edra McQuiston in Liberty, IN. Witter, 92, of West College Corner, passed away on November 12, 2018 at Whitewater Commons nursing home. He was born on March 31, 1926, and is the son of the late Ross Witter and Myrtle Sanford. On May 1, 1949, he married Edra McQuiston in Liberty, IN. Robert and Edra were blessed to spend 69 wonderful years together. Robert enjoyed spending time working in the yard and tending to his flowers. He took pride in being a member and past master of the Masonic lodge # 58 for over 55 years. Robert served his country in the United States Army. After leaving the army, he attended barber school in Indianapolis where he graduated in 1949. He had also worked at D&M in Connersville, IN. In addition to his wife, Edra, Robert is survived by a daughter, Diane (Mike) Matix; a son, Jan Witter; two sisters, Carolyn Stearns and Irene Hartman; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Chrystal) Matix and Beth (Robb) Kingsley; four great-grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Ryan, and Jack. Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Mark, and Wayne Witter; and two sisters, Martha Bothast and Geneva Curry. Burial in the College Corner Cemetery, West College Corner, Indiana.
