REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Robert Raymond Palmer, age 81, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his home in Redwood City, Calif.
Born Jan. 12, 1931, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of the late Louis Franklin Palmer and Mae Ola (Smith) Palmer and graduated from John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and moved to California in 1964.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Robert Raymond Palmer, age 81, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his home in Redwood City, Calif.
Born Jan. 12, 1931, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of the late Louis Franklin Palmer and Mae Ola (Smith) Palmer and graduated from John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and moved to California in 1964.
Robert had numerous jobs during his career, including working as an accountant and purchasing agent for a trailer manufacturer, Reliance Electric, the New York Times and Molded Fiber Glass. He retired from the City of San Francisco Municipal Transit Authority.
Bob loved automobiles, antique cars, motorcycles, and had traveled extensively around the world. He was very active in his local senior center and loved going to bingo with friends. He had a marvelous sense of humor and an endless supply of jokes to tell.
Although, he had no children of his own, he was a devoted "Uncle Bob" to his numerous nieces and nephews.
He is survived by brothers, Richard of Sandusky, Ohio, Harry C. Prine Jr. of Jefferson, Ohio, and Herbert D. Prine (Donna) of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Paul Palmer and Charles (Alvira) Prine; and sisters, Leola (George) Clark, Ella Jean Palmer and Eleanor Prine.
A Memorial Service with Pastor Jeff Stoll will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in North Kingsville, Ohio, at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 18th, followed by a gathering at the Saybrook United Methodist Church.

JEFFERSON — Charles J. Prine, age 73, of Clay St., Jefferson, died Thursday afternoon, Sept. 24, 2009, at the Jefferson Healthcare Center.Born June 1, 1936, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Harry C. and Mae O. (Smith) Prine and had been a life-long resident of this area. He was a graduate of Edgewood High School and married Alvira M. Wilcox on March 9, 1953, in W. Springfield, Pa.He was a painter for 45 years with Painter's Local #1103 in Painesville, retiring in 1999. Mr. Prine was a member of the First Baptist Church, Relief Lodge #284, F. and A. M., 32nd Degree Mason and lifetime member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland.He enjoyed driving stock cars, NASCAR racing, car shows, fishing, traveling and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Alvira M. "Willie" Prine; five children, Timothy (Becky) Prine of Elkhart, Ind., James (Marie) Prine of Tucson, Ariz., Jack (Yvonne) Prine of Geneva, Christine (Chris) Pestello of Madison and Charles (Michelle) Prine II of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Leola Clark; and four brothers, Richard and Robert Palmer and Harry and Del Prine.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard and Robert Prine and Paul Palmer; and four sisters, Ruby Cook, Ruth Hietikko, Rita Stone and Ella Jean Palmer.Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 3rd, at the First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Jerry Bentley, officiating. Relief Lodge #284 will conduct a Masonic Service at 4 p.m., with the Memorial Service immediately following. A dinner will be offered following the Services at the Church.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, prior to the Service.Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church.The Jefferson Home of the FLEMING and BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 49 W.
