Description	:	LARNED — Robert Reed Yeager of Larned died July 26 at Larned Healthcare Center. Born June 10, 1910, in Rozel, he was the son of Wesley Ralph and Christine Reed Yeager. The family moved to Macksville in 1919 and he graduated from Macksville High School in 1928. He attended Kansas State University for two years before coming to Larned in 1930 to work for his Uncle Bert Reed, who owned Reed Implement Company. Read More	LARNED — Robert Reed Yeager of Larned died July 26 at Larned Healthcare Center. Born June 10, 1910, in Rozel, he was the son of Wesley Ralph and Christine Reed Yeager. The family moved to Macksville in 1919 and he graduated from Macksville High School in 1928. He attended Kansas State University for two years before coming to Larned in 1930 to work for his Uncle Bert Reed, who owned Reed Implement Company. In 1933 he married Kathleen McMorran from Macksville. He eventually purchased Reed Implement company and established Yeager Home and Auto Supply. He worked there until his retirement in 1972. Bob was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, serving on the church session and as a deacon for many years. He served on the USD 495 School Board for 12 years from 1952 to 1963 and was the president from 1961 to 1962. He was a member of the Rotary Club and in 1976 was president of the Community Hospital Committee. Bob was a musician, sportsman and a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a friend to many in the Larned community. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patsy Yeager of Portland, Ore; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bob Stanton of Larned; six grandchildren, Richard Stanton, Kim Stanton, Cathy Haymaker, Julie Cummings, Jake Yeager and Luke Yeager; and five great-grandchildren, Jessica Haymaker, Jennifer Haymaker, Ashlie Cummings, Matthew Cummings and Emily Cummings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; parents, Ralph and Christine Yeager; and five brothers, Joe Yeager, Dick Yeager, Bill Yeager, Jim Yeager and Ed Yeager. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Morell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Singer presiding. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at the funeral home. Great Bend (Kan.) Tribune, Aug. 12, 2009
